Imagining and Materialising the Future in an 'Age of Austerity'
A series of five seminars/workshops, an international conference and associated events, held between 2012-15.
The conference, Futures in Question, was held at Goldsmiths, University of London in September 2014. Keynote speakers were:
- Lisa Adkins (Sociology, University of Newcastle, Australia), 'Speculative Futures in an Age of Debt'. Response from Celia Lury (Centre for Interdisciplinary Methodologies, University of Warwick).
- Patricia Ticeneto Clough (Sociology, Women’s Studies and Intercultural Studies, Queens College and Graduate School of the City University of New York), 'Beyond Neoliberalism: Bodies, Affect and Calculation'. Response from Ben Anderson (Geography, Durham University).
- Mike Michael (Sociology, University of Sydney), 'Big Futures, Little Futures'. Response from Nik Brown (Sociology, University of York).
